Traders eye UK unemployment data; US FOMC minutes due out later today

The FTSE is currently trading at 6376, whilst the DAX opened up at 7752 and the Dow closed higher on the day at 14,035.
In stocks, European shares dropped following weak corporate earnings. US stocks remain at a five-year high, with Herbalife up to $1.05. In the UK, Rexam topped the leaderboard, rising 21p to 498p; RBS Group climbing 5.6p to 350p and Melrose Industries rising 3.9p to 246p.
In currencies, EUR/USD rose 0.22% to 1.3417, GBP/USD was up 0.01% to 1.5426 and GBP/EUR was up 0.12% to 1.1508.
In economic data, the UK unemployment rate and claimant count figures will be released at 9.30am, along with minutes from the Bank of England’s last MPC meeting.
In the US, keep an eye out for monthly PPI figures at 1.30pm (UK time), followed by minutes from the FOMC meeting at 7pm.
