  • The FTSE 100 opened negative this morning and is now trading down 30 points. The Dax is down 26 points and the CAC 40 is down 25 points.
  • Dow Futures are currently trading down 55 points.
  • The FTSE 100 Index was expected to open lower on Thursday by financial bookmakers. It fell back after strong gains in the previous session which took it briefly over a three-month trading range at 5,450 before closing below that level.
  • Miners were the big gainers on Wednesday and are leading the retreat on Thursday in tandem with lower copper prices as global growth worries resurfaced following weaker-than-expected Chinese trade data.
  • In currencies, GBP/USD is currently trading at 1.5686, EUR/USD is at 1.3739 and USD/JPY is at 76.87.
  • Gold is currently at 1.673 and crude oil for November delivery is trading at $85.10.
    In economic data, US International Trade and Jobless Claims will be released at 1.30pm (UK time).
