- German Chancellor Angela Merkel is to meet Greek Politicians today, as they seek more time to make spending cuts as part of the terms of the bailout loans.

- We also have the revision of UK economic growth figures being released today at 9.30am, forecast at minus 0.5%. The FTSE at 9am was at 5765, down 11 points on the day.

- The top winner so far is Centrica, up 1.14%, and the biggest loser is Kazakhmys, down 4.41%. Diageo performed well yesterday as shares continued to rise in value, up a further 1% and bringing them to a 50% increase over the past year.

- German shares closed lower yesterday, with the DAX down 68 points. It was at 6935 at 9am this morning, while the Dow Jones is at 13055.

- At 1.30pm, US core durable goods orders figures are to be released, forecast at 0.5%.

- That’s all for this week and remember that UK equities will be closed on Monday for the bank holiday.
