  • Q1) What are the system requirements for the Advantage Web platform?

    The system requirements for accessing our web platform, Advantage Web are:

    Hardware: Modern PCs will run our interface successfully but we recommend that you have at least a 2GHz processor with 2048MB of RAM and up to 40MB of available hard disk space. This will also be dependent on what other applications your computer is running.

    Operating System: Windows: Windows 7, Vista, XP, 2000, 2003 and 2008 Server or newer. Mac: OS X 10.5.x, 10.6.x or newer.

    Internet Browsers: Windows: Our platform is optimised on Mozilla Firefox 3.6 and above, although it will perform on all other major browsers - such as Internet Explorer, Firefox and Chrome. Download the latest version of Firefox.

    Flash Player: The City Index browser-based trading platform is based on Flash technology, requiring at least version 10.2. If you do not already have Flash installed on your machine, your browser should detect this and automatically redirect you to the Flash download page. If not, download the latest version of Flash free of charge.

    Please note: Installing Macromedia Flash Player from the Macromedia website with the default options will install the Google Toolbar. The Pop-up Blocker in the Google Toolbar can cause problems when logging on to your account. We recommend disabling the Google Toolbar installation (by unchecking the box) before proceeding with the Flash installation.

    Screen Resolution: The platform is best viewed at a screen resolution of at least 1024x768. You can adjust your screen resolution by going to 'Control Panel' > 'Display' > 'Change Display Settings'.

    Q2) Is there a charge to download AT Pro?

    No. All of the Advantage platforms are free to download and use.

    Q3) Are the Advantage platforms secure?

    Yes. All Advantage platforms are accessed via a HTTPS connection and are secure. To access your account on any of our platforms, you will be required to enter your username and password.

    Q4) Is there a help guide for the Advantage platforms?

    You can refer to the user guides and tutorial videos available on our website. Help is also available within the platform itself, by clicking on the 'Help' button.

    Additionally, we have tool-tips enabled which will guide you around the platform. Simply click on the question mark next to the window heading to access the platform features help guide.

    Q5) How do I know if I have the latest version of Advantage?

    Every time you log in to one of our trading platforms, your software will automatically update to the current version.

    Q6) Do you offer one-click trading?

    Yes, however, the default setting to enter trades is via the confirmation window.

    One-click trading is an advanced tool for experienced or professional traders. It’s easy to configure one-click trading by amending your setting in the account section. Please be aware that one-click trading allows you to enter/exist trades very quickly and for that reason should be used with caution. We recommend that you acquaint yourself with the one-click option on our demo account before using it on your live account.

    Q7) Am I able to turn off the flashing lights on the platform?

    Sure. You can amend how the price updates are displayed by going to the ‘Account’ tab, selecting ‘Set Preferences’ and then changing ‘Price Updates’ in the drop down menu to ‘no flashing.’

    Q8) The ‘quantity’ box has pre-determined values in it, can I amend these?

    Yes, you can amend these values by typing in the quantity that you require. The values displayed are the most frequently used.

    Q9) Is there a way of changing the colour scheme in Advantage Web?

    Yes. You can change the colour scheme by going to the 'Styles' section within the 'Account Menu' dropdown and selecting the colour theme you prefer.
